Fiona Fisher
CBA, QAI, QAA
Ireland
"I love all of my Conwin equipment and to choose one piece, as a favourite is hard. I really have two pieces I would find it difficult to do without. For me my Dual Sizer is just so versatile and the Precision Air is an absolute must for large and smaller scale classic décor work."

Fiona has been a balloon decorator since 1999 when she visited the International
Party & Halloween show in Birmingham England. She was amazed and immediately
hooked with the fantastic balloon competition pieces, especially the large sculptures.
Fiona began as a professional tennis player and due to an injury became an apprentice for
an antique furniture restorer and cabinet maker. After fifteen years she began running her
own small cafe where she had fun selling things like frog legs and snails.
Searching for something more she decided to join her husband Rodney in his shop, which
sold candles, essential oils and gadgets, hence the store name, Burning Desires.
Looking for new things to sell in the shop she found herself at the Party Show. Enthused
by balloon creations, Fiona asked for a Conwin Precision Air that Christmas,
which Santa delivered. Right after that she got her first classic décor job for New Years.
The following year she took her CBA exam and right after the couple found they had out
grown their small shop in the mall. They both decided to move to a much larger premises
at a busy junction. Business grew as they focused on three main areas to expand in: balloons,
fancy dress & accessories and Hen night gear.
Working long hours to get the business established really paid off as it gave Fiona
time to design her award winning competition pieces.
Fiona began competing in 2002 and continues to add to her long list of awards.
"I have often been asked, why I still compete, the answer is simple. Apart from the challenge of
creating a large sculpture, the photographs of all these pieces in my portfolio really impress
corporate clients when I am trying to get work in places like shopping malls."
In 2003 Fiona became a QAI ( Qualatex Approved Instructor ) and started a new arm to the
business, Balloon Academy Ireland.
Fiona loves sharing her knowledge of the industry with everyone entering the business.
She has had the opportunity to teach in amazing countries such as: Ireland, England,
Japan, Taiwan, Lebanon, Argentina and numerous times in her favourite city and country,
at BACI in Florence Italy.
