Method of Construction

Note: This design is very easy, but you need to be able to create Apple Twist’ in round balloons!

To create an APPLE TWIST in a balloon you need secure 1/2 an un-inflated 160Q around the knot of an inflated balloon, then pushing the knot into the middle of the balloon and grabbing it from the other side. If you have never made an APPLE TWIST before you may find this technique a little difficult, the trick is to make sure that you fully inflate the balloon first then let at least 50% of the air out before attempting the twist, as this will help to stretch the latex.

Using another piece of the 160Q wrap this securely round the grabbed knot. (The balloon should now resemble an apple/pumpkin shape having a flat surface on both the top and bottom). You should have a piece of 160Q securely attached to both ends

Step 1: Create Apple Twists in 2 of the Green Agate balloons as detailed above.
Step 2: Create 3 small water-weights with the remaining 3 Green Agates.
Step 3: Apple twist 4 x Black 5” and 2 x Orange 5”.
Step 4: Apple twist 1 x 16” or 24” Orange (not easy)! If you use the raisin twist method for securing balloons to balloons, drop 4 raisins inside the 16” or 24” prior to Apple Twisting this balloon.
Step 5: Start with the legs, using the 160Q that are secured to each of these balloons tie them together to create the first leg (see picture)
Step 6: Leg 2, use the 3 water-weights as the foot and add the remaining 5” balloons as before.
Step 7: To secure the legs to the body either use a raisin to secure these or glue-dots, the raisin twist is a much better way to secure balloons to balloons.
Step 8: Add the last agate to the Pumpkin head, either tie or glue dot this in position.
Step 9: Twist the hands from 2 x 350Q, create a small loop twist, and complete with 2 small p[inch twists, use a raisin twist to secure this or glue dot.
Step 10: Finally add the inflated tip of a 350Q as a stalk on the hat!
Step 11: Draw on the face using a Sharpie or similar type of pen.
