Wedding Centerpiece
with Double Bubbles

by Sue Marston-Weston, CBA

Method of Construction

Image 1

If you want to create the mini double bubbles inside the 16” balloon you will need to do the following:
  • Double stuff silver, Pearl White and Pearl Magenta 5” inside the 5” Just Married ARP Diamond Clear balloons, you will only need 9 in total.
  • Partially inflate the 16” Just Married balloon with air, do not knot…
  • Set the Dual Sizer to 00.01(lowest  setting) with the inflation tool from the insider tool set on the left hand outlet, position the nozzle on the inflation tool in the outer balloon of the double stuffed 5” and insert t into the neck of the 16” partially inflated balloon.
  • Tap the foot pedal once and the outer balloon will inflate, carefully remove the nozzle and place into the inner 5” balloon and press the foot pedal once again, thus creating a mini double bubble. This technique might sound tricky but with practise it will become easy and very effective

  1. Once you have filled the 16” balloon with sufficient 5” balloons, fill the balloon to 16” with air and knot.
  2. Glue the Lomey pole to the Lomey dish, ideally with Lomey glue.
  3. At the top of the Lomey pole create 2 x balloon clusters using a random selection of 5” balloons from the list above, the top cluster should be inflated to approx. 4” and the second cluster to approx. 3.5”.
  4. Secure the 16” balloon to the top cluster, secure well.
  5. At the base of the design, using the Dual Sizer with nitrogen make 3 clusters of 4 balloons,
    • First cluster inflate to approx. 4.5”
    • Second cluster inflate to approx. 4”
    • Third cluster inflate to Approx 3.5”
  1. Now create a duplet Double bubble, secure together with a small length of a un-inflated 160Q.
  2. Slide this duplet into position between the base cluster;  it will sit neatly.
  3. To complete this design add  small 3-balloon clusters of double stuffed Magenta inside silver 5” balloons, keep these small.
  4. Add silk flowers and organza ribbons.
  5. A really nice finishing touch is to create a ‘string’ of tiny bubbles from 1 x 160Q Silver balloon, wrap through the base and then round the Lomey pole, both ends must be secure to stop the bubbles unravelling.
