“My favourite piece of Conwin Equipment is my Precision Air Inflator because it turns ordinary into extraordinary and takes balloon art from basic to the professional level right out of the box.

STEWART’s Baskets & Balloons began 25 years ago, in Tottenham, Ontario, Canada. While starting the business, Colin continued his full time profession as a Computer Sales Rep for the second largest computer company in the world, Digital Equipment. After graduating from College in Computer Technology, he started with Digital while at the same time getting the balloon business off the ground.

Although it started out as STEWART’s Country Craft Shop, selling homemade crafts at craft shows at a local flea market, it rapidly evolved into a full service Professional Balloon Decorating company. It quickly changed direction and its name to STEWART’s Baskets & Balloons, (SBB). Eventually the business demanded more time, making it necessary to leave Digital and operate the balloon company on a full time basis.

Due to the quick growth in the corporate decor side of the business, it was necessary to close his party store and concentrate in this area. Within 5 short years, SBB was providing large-scale decor for major malls in Southern Ontario. In order to expand and grow the decor business, SBB started to move into the Grocery Market space, providing decor every day for the past 19 years across Ontario in Canada’s largest grocery chains. SBB has continued to grow their business into many different markets, the most recent being decor for Car Dealerships.

Another important side of SBB is the manufacturing side, which produces, RELI-A-DROP, a balloon drop net system. It has been sold across Canada the past 15 years and is now available worldwide through Pioneer Balloon Company.

Over the past 25 years, Colin has also shared his knowledge and love of balloon art as an instructor at many Balloon Conventions and seminars around the world. In addition to teaching, Colin has produced multiple educational DVDs sets like “The Balloon Cookbook, Volume 1, No Helium Required” and Volume 2 – “Large Sculptures and Butterflies”, with many more to come.

Colin’s teaching experience includes:
• Jubilee Balloon Arts Convention – Las Vegas, Nevada
• Jubilee Balloon Arts Convention – Atlanta, Georgia
• Jubilee Balloon Arts Convention – Sacramento, California
• Balloonstitute – Detroit, Michigan
• FLOAT Convention
• QBN – Mid Atlantic Chapter
