Bubble Balloon® 30197
• 1 x 18″ “Smiley Face Blue” Microfoil® Balloon 29638
• 1 x 18” “Congratulations Party Time”
Diamond ExpressionsTM Microfoil 34436
• 4 x 5″ (13cm) Dark Blue Latex Balloons 43553
• 1 x 350Q Dark Blue Latex Balloons 97226
• 2 x 260Q Onyx Black Latex Balloons 43937
• 260Q Scraps
• Qualatex® BalloonRibbonTM
• Adhesive Balloon Tabs
• Clear Packing Tape
• Weights
Step 1
Inflate the Dark Blue 350Q, and make two 6″ (15cm) Loop Twists (see Loop Twist below). Using a 260Q scrap, tie the Loop Twists to a weight.
Step 2
Air inflate a 22″ “Congratulations Graduation Caps” Bubble with a latex regulator until all the wrinkles in the seam disappear. Cut off the attached ribbon, tie a 260Q scrap to the neck (making sure not to damage the self- sealing valve), and tie into the 350Q in Step 1.
Step 3
Attach two adhesive balloon tabs to the top center of the Bubble’s seam, aligning their holes. Reinforce the tabs with clear packaging tape.
Step 4
Make a 4-balloon cluster using 5″ Dark Blue latex sized to 4.5″ (11.5cm). Tie a piece of BalloonRibbon around the holes in the adhesive tabs in Step 3, and use the ribbon to tie the cluster onto the tabs.
Step 5
Air inflate the 18″ “Smiley Face Blue” Microfoil and roll up the neck with BalloonRibbon. Use the ribbon to tie the Microfoil into the cluster from Step 4.
Step 6
To make the “arms” and “hands,” inflate an Onyx Black 260Q, leaving about 4″ (10cm) uninflated. Make a 1″ (2.5cm) bubble at the knot end to create a “thumb,” then make a 2″ (5cm) Loop Twist. Trim the neck as close to the knot as possible. Repeat to make a second arm and hand, then tie the two arms together at the uninflated ends. Wrap the arms into the cluster from Step 4.
Step 7
Helium inflate the 18″ “Congratulations Party Time” Microfoil. Roll up
and tie the neck of the Microfoil with a length of BalloonRibbon, and tie
it to a weight. Wrap the middle of the ribbon around the character’s hand.
Loop Twist
1. Twist a bubble twice the length of the loop twist.
2. Sharply bend the bubble in half, and twist the ends together.
